Y10 Team win Mock Trial Competition at Runshaw College

Worden are Runshaw Mock Trial Competition Winners

A team from Worden were selected to attend the Mock Trial competition at Runshaw College on 22nd February 2017. The team of four from Year 10 were given the opportunity to view the case files and, with guidance, prepare their prosecution case for the trial.

The team were one of six involved in the competition. Worden went up against Greenbank High School. Both teams were absolutely outstanding with the Judge stating that the battle between the two teams was the ‘moment of the whole day’.

After a fantastic day, there was a tense wait whilst the Judge deliberated. Worden were, following a wonderful performance, announced the overall winning team.

Well done to: Shrey Nandiwada, Tom Monk, Rhys Hathaway and Hal Gardner.

Mrs Gardner, Head of English, said “I knew we had a very strong team but they excelled on the day and I am extremely proud of them.”  Mr Catherall, Headteacher, added “The boys came back to school cheering with excitement after their win against some strong competition.  They were grinning from ear to ear and we are all really proud of them.”

Congratulations to all who participated.
