Congratulations to all the pupils of Academy@Worden who are celebrating their GCSE results. It is very pleasing that once again student progress is strong across a wide range of subjects.

Our Class of 2024 have been extremely resilient in their determination to overcome the challenges of the past few years and have been a real credit to our school. We are very proud of the hard work and determination that they have shown and we are certain they will go onto have bright and prosperous futures. We would also like to recognise and thank all the parents and carers for all their support. 

Headteacher, Mr Hammersley said ‘these pupils have had to work hard to catch up the education they missed due to Covid.  Yet their determination to overcome these setbacks by working hard and achieving a strong set of GCSE results is testament to their resilience and I wish them all the best for the future’.

Individual achievements deserving of special mention include: 

Ayla W who achieved 5 grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7

Josh E who achieved 4 grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7

Thomas D who achieved 2 grade 9s, four grade 8s and three grade 7s

Joshua M who achieved 2 grade 9s, two grade 8s and two grade 7

Freya S who achieved 2 grade 9s, five grade 8s and one grade 7

There were many other pupils who achieved fantastic results and these pupils should be proud of their achievements. At Worden sixty three percent of all GCSE grades awarded were at the level of grade 4 and above and forty seven percent of all grades were awarded at the level of grade 5 and above.
