Pastoral Support Hubs.

At Academy@Worden we have three hubs.  Hub 1 is located on the main corridor, Hub 2 located just outside the Design Technology department, and Hub 3 is located next to the W6 Computer room. 

Hub 1 is home to our Pastoral Leads for Year 8 & 10. Hub 2 is home to our Year 7 Pastoral Lead and Hub 3 is for Year 9 & 11. All of our Pastoral Leads have extensive experience of working with pupils in Secondary Schools.

Our Pastoral Leads for 2025-26 are as follows: 

Miss Wiggans Year 7
Mrs Privett Year 8
Miss MacMillan Year 9
Mrs Price Year 10
Mr McClure Year 11

 

The Pastoral Leads are on hand to offer Pastoral Support and pupils can come and talk to them about any concerns or worries. They also work closely with Mr Howarth, Assistant Headteacher Behaviour and Attitudes to uphold both our Behaviour and our Rewards policy and to promote positive behaviour and attitudes throughout school. 

The team is also able to deal with attendance issues and offer support to pupils who are struggling with being in school.  They also offer support with other pastoral issues such as lost property, locker keys, temporary replacement school shoes or detentions. 

We recognise that being in school can sometimes be worrying – pupils can come to us in Hub to tell us what is on their mind and we will do everything that we can to help.

The relevant pastoral lead is the first port of call for a pupil and they will guide them in the right direction.
